The Transitional Services Branch of Broken Pots Ministry strives to aid ones in transitioning from jails, prisons and the Mission Bible Training Centers back into the outside world. This is done by providing referrals for housing, employment and education.
Housing may be sought through Oxford House, Inc. which oversees over 2200 Oxford Homes across the United States. Oxford Homes house an average of 8 individuals who support each other in their recovery and split the expenses of the house. The homes are run democratically by the residents of the home. Since their inception in 1975 Oxford Houses have proven to be very successful in helping ones to maintain ones sobriety and to help ones get back into the main stream of life. Please visit http://www.oxfordhouse.org for more information.
Housing along with education and employment help may be found in Christian rescue missions. The Citygate Network (formerly the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions) has been around since 1913 and has a membership of over 300 rescue missions from across the United States. These missions supply shelter and assistance in helping residents to achieve their educational and/or employment goals. Please visit http://www.citygatenetwork.org for more information.
